Made for a good birthday present
Grandson loved it!I think it is a bit expensive for what you get from it, but collectables are often priced high. I also think the 'discovery' method is goofy and unnecessary, but my 8 y/o grandson loves that part as well. For the amount of joy and excitement it brought him, it was worth the cost.

Good for first time use
My 7 and 5 year old loved it. For the price, I wish these beast labs did more. It does feel like a science experiment at first with all the steps you have to take and ingredients you have to put in, the bubbling sound effects and the smoke. It’s cool with all that. But once you do it the first time, it seems silly to do it all over again with the add-on items. Like the kids figure out it’s all an illusion by the end… so they don’t care to do it again. Just wish they were a little cheaper. But ultimately the kids really enjoy.
