OMG! These are amazing! THIS is what someone should have when trying anchovies for the first time! Yes… they are salty and funky, as a good anchovy should be! They are also buttery with a sweet undertone. Eaten alone… or on a piece of toast with good butter… heavenly!

For anchovies, I don’t think it was worth the cost. They didn’t taste any better than what you would get for two or three dollars at the store. Maybe for sardines or a more complex tinned fish, but these just tasted like salt. Not unpleasant, just no subtleties or nuances to justify spending 10x the cost of generic anchovies.
