The Live View Updates Live!
My 2011 Chevrolet Impala kept giving me the "Engine Hot / AC off" warning, and after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor and wires to it, the issue persisted. So with the live view of this Thinkcar OBD2 reader, I was able to watch the temperature rise from 92 degrees when I started the car, up to 190 degrees while driving. It's not a snapshot. It updates live, one or two degrees at a time. With this realization that the engine wasn't actually overheating, and seeing the P0128 code, I was able to figure out that the thermostat was stuck open, and learn that the "Engine Hot" error also displays when the engine hasn't reached the expected operating temperature in the expected time. So actually, the engine was too cool. I can quickly erase the code with this reader, and get the A/C working again.I replaced the thermostat, and so far that has solved the problem. For the $10 this OBD2 reader cost me, it's been a fantastic tool providing valuable insight.

Worth the money. Good quality.
A very good handy scanner with Fuel trims live data. Priceless function for a cheap priced scanner.

Wish I didn't need it...
I have an old Lexus RX300 that is my work car. I drive it 120 miles a day and only bought it to keep the miles off of my Jeep Wrangler. The Lexus has chronic check engine light issues and keeping the dash light off has become a very expensive hobby. This tool has been instrumental in helping me know whether I have to pull over now, send it to the shop soon, or simply reset and go on my merry way.Recently I had knock sensor issues (a major Lexus issue). When that code goes off the car goes into "limp mode" and won't shift into overdrive. That means 60 miles or more to get home at 45mph max. This tool allowed me to reset the light and get home on two separate occasions before I spent the nearly $2k on the repair.I don't really like carrying it around but its kept me from being stranded and also keeps me informed. For that it gets 5 stars.

Wish there was a user guide.
Had to play with it for quite a while to figure out how it is supposed to work. Don't know the accuracy as I had no error messages except the low tire pressure error icon. I think that sensor is broken since that icon has stayed lit for years. I was hoping that this tool would turn it off. But maybe since it's not an engine error I can't clear it? Again, don't know because there are no instructions. The "Quick Start Guide" is so basic it's useless. Hope that when I get a "check engine" error, I will get some worthwhile diagnostic information.

Wanted a code reader to diagnose a warning light and clear codes
Had a recurring check engine light and when I checked it at the parts store with their OBD2 Scanner I would receive a few different causes. As the problem was intermittent, (the check engine light would go off). So I purchased the THINKCAR Thinkobd20 and identified the problem as ignition related, and after replacing the wires , plugs and coil found it was a loose coil wire in the spark tower.

Works
Bought this to replace my old one, which was a PITA, when having EVAP problems. Mechanic charged $190 to read codes, which got crossed off when they did repair work. It scrolled info while booting, which was nice because I knew it was working. Gave me a code, and car is going back for another looksee. Also I bought it when the price was $9.99, and unlike other vendors who don't honor their low prices, I received item. Honorable vendor.
