iDsonix 2X External 3.5 inch Hard Drive Case HDD Protection Storage Boxes Shockproof Anti-Static Grey

About 2 years ago I purchased a 5-pack of iDsonix storage cases. They're pretty good cases, nice and rigid, with adequate padding (foam pads) inside to keep a HD from bouncing around.I just re-ordered this, and not looking at the details (my mistake), didn't realize Amazon had redirected me to the 2-pack version of this product. I'm mostly annoyed at myself for not catching the switcheroo, but a little miffed at Amazon and/or iDsonix for allowing such a switcheroo to occur. If I click on a link in my order history for a product, shouldn't I go to that exact product, or be given indication that that product no longer exists?Anyways, these are good HD cases, just watch out for any Amazon bait-and-switch on your previous order list.

I bought these cases to more safely store my barebone HDDs, however with less than one year of use, and less than a dozen open and closings; the case cracked beyond repair (see picture). The sub-par tolerances with the manufacturing made the foam insert apply too much stress on the hinge, and will cause the cause to eventually crack. This is a design flaw that will be present in all of their units. Buy a different brand to put your 3.5" HDDs into.

BOTH of the small plastic locking tabs snapped off...within 10 days of buying them! AND, I only opened them 2-3 times TOTAL before they broke. Horrible quality. Avoid!!

I used to buy from another brand..These are great work well but I fell are higher cost than should be--my previous brand was cheaper.

I have seven of them with my back up hard drives for both home and office. They work great.
