Perfection
This is my first electric gravel cleaner and I LOVED using it. I did have a problem with the filter getting sucked to the return tube and cutting off the sucking flow. But I have a canister filter which has black hollowed out filter calls about 1/2 round that i had spares of and put 4 of them 2 on the bottom and 2 on top in the opposite position so the filer can't get stuck and water still flows. Worked perfect!!! You do have to clean the small filters out a lot but it's super fast and easy to do so it's totally worth it. And love the power button so you don't have to unplug it every time to clean the filter. I have a tall 45 front dome tank on top of a stand which comes up about up to my armpits so with the unit as is I had no problem reaching all the rock to clean them. The extra two extenders tubs that come with it will really give you the length you need if you have a super tall tank. I personally give this a 10 out of 10 stars! ⭐

Great find....
I really like this tool. It is nice and light and has just the right amount of suction. Does a great job of sucking up the debris without over doing it where the gravel ends migrating up into the shaft. I was truly impressed. The only short coming is the inline filter. This clogs way too quickly to be used. This is even noted in the directions guide that comes with the unit. However, the filter bags works better than expected. I am going to try to substitute the filter material in the other filter housing to see if I can find a product that doesn't clog as easily. In either case, I don't think you can go wrong for the money.

Works well for frequent maintenance
This was my first pump-powered aquarium cleaner. After introducing a new pleco to my 45 gallon aquarium, he left trails of poop all over the fine gravel. First I tried the plastic filter adapter on the outlet to try to clean up the mess. It didn't take very long for the poop to clog up the small filter (maybe 20 seconds or so). Once the filter got clogged, the suction level went down so low that it wouldn't pick anything else up, even whith the suction adjustment maxed out. Granted, there was alot of poop in the tank. However, I would've hoped for enough suction power to continue to push more water through the clogged filterSecond, I tried the "sock" filter bag. Some of the reviews I read said that the bag comes off way too easy, but this was not the case for me. I left the base of the small plastic filter attachment connected to the pump and put the sock filter over it. This method worked much better for the heavy cleanup work. I still had to empty it fairly often, but not nearly as much as the plastic filter.

Bad filter bag
Tried to use this vacuum cleaner for the gravel in my fish tank, but it didn't do the job. The filter bag got dirty fast and after that the filter bag got clogged. I had to clean it twice within 5 minutes. The plastic round thing that has two cotton filter pads also got clogged fast. It wasn’t cleaning the water nor was in putting the water back in the tank. I took off the bag to see what was wrong and the water wasn’t even moving it was just stuck. Now my tank looks a mess cause of this thing.

Good suction, but not so great for cleaning a dirty tank
As other reviewers have noted, the filter bag and/or sponges will clog almost immediately. This means about 15 seconds of cleaning, 2-3 minutes of washing out the media, then repeat. Very tedious. For doing a water change I think it would be excellent. It does have decent suction, you'll just need to rig something up with more capacity if you want to filter the water back into the tank. I found that running the waste through a fish net bought me a lot more time before having to go rinse out the gunk and continuing to clean the tank.Assembly was a little confusing. I'm still not sure I've attached the little filter bag correctly, and had a ton of leftover parts after assembling it.

Amazing Product!
This product is absolutely amazing! I own five fish tanks and I do weekly maintenance on them such as water changes and other cleanings (replacing filter cartridges, cleaning decor). This machine is very easy to assemble; it helped that there was a video that demonstrated what it does. The suction is very good, and once a tanks gravel has been cleaned, I thoroughly rinse the filter and put it back on to proceed to the next tank. Before, I was using a thin plastic tube to clean the gravel in my tanks which was very hard and messy. With this machine, it is quick and easy to clean the gravel in any size fish tank. My largest tank is a 16 gallon, so it is pretty large and I do not have to stick my hand in the water at all because the handles are adjustable with the additional extensions.Overall, I highly recommend this product! I spent a week looking up an effective gravel cleaner (Walmart, PetSmart, Target, etc) and this was a great price and is a great value!

Not a Fan
Bought this because I didn't care for my non-automatic, which required a lot of effort to get the suction going for a water change. Thought an automatic one my make things easier. In some ways, this ppump was better. Initially couldn't get it to work until I realize you have the get the blue section of the tool completely submerged. Then it started working. The problem was, as the water level lowered, it became harder (and eventually impossible) to keep that blue part under water. In the end, I was left with a tank still half full of water, and I had to pull out my non-automatic to get much of the rest. defeats the purpose, and certainly didn't make my life easier, as I had hoped.Entirely possible I am using it wrong or there is some trick I am not picking up, but just doesn't work for me. Worth noting that I did buy a more expensive version by another manufacturer, and my next tank change was EXACTLY what I had hoped for in terms of water removal, so what I was looking for can be done.
