Q: Can anyone confirm what I think is true, this unit will automatically select 6V or 12V settings once connected to the battery? No switch involved?

Yes...but you do have to select between std and agm type batteries...here is the manual for you to peruse...http://www.batterychargers.com/Documents/0099001462-R0.pdf

Q: My Yellow Charging light blinks, and lights flicker in car. then turns self off. on again a second later. Whats happening. Won't charge

According to the manual, it is attempting to desulphate the battery. It suggests to allow it to work through the desulphation mode and it will return to normal charging once it is complete. This process may take up to 10 hours. I personally would disconnect the battery from the vehicle first.

Absolutely, my batteries are the size of electric wheelchair batteries which are made to run all day without a charge. I charge 4 at once. I use a smaller charger (same Make) to charge my car battery. I would recommend this one because you can select a trickle charge first. Too much charging will ruin your battery. even 6 amps is not excessive.
