Good but not detailed
Good News: You won’t get tired reading this book. Even non literature students may find this work absorbing, as if you are reading an interesting novel. Language is easy; you don’t have to make efforts to understand what is on the page. It covers a wide spectrum of literary history from 600 AD to 2016. Interspersed ‘language note’ is knowledgeable and gives you a break as well. However, you need to have some prior knowledge of History of English Literature to make it a delightful read. (Personal Opinion).Bad News: They have tried to condense everything that may come under the purview of English Literature. Although there is a reference to almost all the canonical texts, but I think that doesn’t do justice to them. Imagine Old English to Renaissance is covered in 45 pages (that is some 800 years of literature). It is sort of commentary on books and authors, and for the later even, there is little biographical information. For NET aspirants don’t get carried away that it has got everything that is needed. However it might be a good beginning to set sail.

Lucid, Updated, Best book to breed interest on the subject.
Good book. Updated content. Perfectly delivered. It has lucid language, and the structure of presenting the subject is considerably catchy for learners who are studying the subject for the very first time and the language will not interrupt you to seek for the dictionary every now and then, and so you will read and understand the subject smoothly. If you are a novice then start to learn History of English Literature with this book. If you are experienced with other books and the subject itself, then go for the Oxford's book on the same subject and you will definitely like it.My suggestions for History of English Literature :First choice : Routledge (lucid like a story book. clear concepts. manifesting interest in the subject, updated).Second choice : Oxford (updated, abundantly and depthfully informative, tough laguage will increase your vocabulary.)

Intriguing History of English Literature
Completed Routledge History of English Literature today. Intriguing. Simple writing style. Not as detailed as David Daiches but has basic details about period,Literary language, authors, movements etc. The book is essential for being the latest history of English literature that has chapters like 'The Twetieth Century : 1900-45', 'The Twentith Century: 1945 to 2000' and 'The Twenty-First Century' and its information on English language of particular period or author.

bien
El libro es de 2 mano y se nota, llegó a tiempo, pero las portadas están muy desgastadas y algo sucias. El interior en buenas condiciones. Bien de precio.
