Updating my previous review which I believe was a bit unfair. This light is actually pretty good compared to other similar lights on Amazon: It's brighter than several others I've tried, has modes for red only/blue only/mixed, and can still be powered off a standard USB port. And it's a few bucks cheaper than some of the alternatives.Here's the thing that you need to understand about this product, though: "one way switch" means two things:1) If you use this with an external timer. Every time the timer goes off and power is cut, you need to power these lights on manually the next time power is restored.2) This unit does have a timer function built-in, but the timer function only controls one cycle. After this cycle, you need to re-set it manually.If your plan is to leave the lights on 24/7, or if you're ok manually turning this light on and off, then this is actually one of the better lights you can get. But if you need to use this with an external timer, or you plan to "set and forget" this light and have it run on a schedule, then you should consider other options.I also added some stars to this because the seller is very helpful and responsive. That's not always the case with sellers on Amazon so it deserves to be called out.

I am looking for something that can automate my plant lighting- that will turn on and off at a set time each day so that I don't have to worry about it every day. I knew that the timer on this light was settable, not programmable (in other words, you need to set the light to turn on in a certain amount of hours and then turn off a certain number of hours after that, which means you need to touch the timer at least every other day for it to work). I was hoping that I would be able to plug the light into a separate timer (on the wall), which would then control when the light came on and turned off each day. Unfortunately, it seems as though when the power is turned off of this light (either by the timer included on the light, or manually by unplugging it or cutting power through an external timer), that the only way for it to turn back on (even if it gets power again from the timer on the wall) is to manually push "switch". This is not effective for my uses as I was hoping for something that's fully automated. I am thus returning the product.Although my review of the PRODUCT remains at 2 stars (for the reasons stated above), my review of the company is 5 stars. After my negative review, they contacted me and offered a refund for the product, which I appreciate.

I don’t love this light. You have to set the timer every day, which almost defeats the purpose of a timer. The lights aren’t very bright even on the brightest setting. Everything else is fine.

I have purchased a few different grow lights, and this one is the worst out of the bunch. Here is why: 1) the timer in a one way timer, which means you have to reset it every day. This defeats the purpose of a timer. In other words, if you’re looking to have this thing function while you’re away for more than one day, this is NOT the light you’re looking for. 2) You also cannot use an outlet timer to solve the one-way timer issue with the light because it will NOT switch back on after being turned off. For example, if you were to unplug the light while it was on and then plug it back in, it will be off (unlike a simple lamp with a simple switch that would remain on when you plug back in). 3) Finally, my other dual grow lamps have the ability to use one or both lights. This lamp does not have that ability.In conclusion, this is probably not the lamp you’re looking for. It might look neat but it’s basically useless if you want a lamp that can take care of your plants while you’re away.The company was quick to try and rectify my disappointment with a refund. I also did not have to return the light, so that was nice.

I like how the grow light has a dimmer option for different light settings. There is also a timer for it to turn off and when to turn it on from the time you set it. It is really cold where I live and I have this one on often. I am a beginner with plants but I feel comfortable using this light. The instructions are great and understandable as well.

The sun is a cyclic process in our solar system. It casts sunrises and sunsets on every planet. Here on Earth, we can expect to see the sun at some point in the daytime and then it goes away but the most important part is that it automatically comes back around the next day. So when we have a plant indoors, it doesn't get to see the direct sun like it is expecting. So why this company designed the timer function to only turn on ONCE and NEVER turn back on automatically after it shuts off is beyond me. The circuit design to make a timer that is cyclic is not much harder than the circuit that is inside this single use timer. Also its default setting is OFF so a christmas tree light timer will not work either. Do not buy this light, it requires you to set the ON and OFF settings every single morning if you want your plant to live, that is way too much work in such a busy world we live in. We buy things to make our lives easier and more convenient, not to give ourselves more work...Update: Added a star for experiencing wonderful customer service from this seller. The LED's by themselves are great and are bright.

My wife wanted these for her Orchids and African Violets that were not blooming. The orchid has bloomed twice and blooms last unlike before. the African violet has 4 blooms and keeps putting on more. Could't be more pleased with product!!!

I like that this light can clamp onto my dresser and shine directly onto the plant. The plant is still alive so that’s great, however I don’t think I’ve had it long enough to know if it has the long-term desired effect on the plant. I’m hopeful that it will grow and thrive but I was starting from a somewhat dark place- pun intended!
