Works great, as advertised
I purchased this License plate Camera in 2016 and am about to purchase a second camera for a second location. Not sure how good LPR cameras in this price range worked since I had NO luck with regular cameras day or night. This camera works GREAT, SUPER. During our 3 week trial period, we identified every customer that entered our Mini Storage. It really lights up the license plate and tail or license plate lights do not effect it. As advertised, everything else is almost too dark to see in bright sun and next to impossible to see at night (unless it is reflective, like signs) but only thing important is the license plate number as far as the police are concerned. (Under my regular cameras I had great pictures of this crook and his truck and of vehicle with kids climbing over the gate but no license plate to ID them. Cops agreed that it was a great picture and to call them if I saw him/them or vehicles again. Yea right). Everyone entering the property must stop to open the gate. During the test phase I had the camera sitting behind a window with a 60 degree off angle to the license plate. It worked but the focused "read zone" of the back of the vehicle had to be in was only 5 ft wide. Later I mounted it door high outside with only about a 30 degree angle and 15 ft from the focused "read Zone" which because of the smaller angle off increased to 15 feet. That accommodated all vehicles. I have it focused at an exact range inside the "read zone" but have not had to read a plate +/- 3ft outside of this point.The LPR camera is hooked to my security recorder for playback. The only problems I have is because of where I have to mount the camera, I only have a narrow field of view of about 20 wide for vehicles to drive through. Since the 16 camera recorder only takes a picture every sec or less, I miss people driving through at speed unless their license plate happens to be in that small "read zone" when the recorder cycles through this camera. My second Camera will have a more straight on look so I can catch vehicles at speed over a longer distance and time.I highly recommend this LPR camera.

Low quality equipment.
Purchased two license plate recognition cameras in 2019. Also purchased a dome surveillance camera indoor outdoor in 2019 as well. System came with a DVR to record. License plate cameras would not pick up license plates at night. License plate cameras failed Completely within three years. Dome camera also failed this year. So a lot of money spent for a short amount of time.
