My main use is to test DEF
I use this to test the off brands of DEF.Very pleased with ease of use and easy to read. Case helps keep toolbox neat. Very solid construction, doesn't feel cheap when using. Tested other scales and we're pretty accurate. Good choice.

Accuracy
Since I had to get 2 units ready for winter here and to replace the coolant in my F- 150, I needed a tool that was easy to use and not messy like some of the tools that draw coolant and need to be flushed.I was at first wondering about whether I had the correct devise since the instructions talked of sugar content and had a chart that did not relate to coolant or battery condition!! The "C" at the top of the center graduation I assumed to refer to concentration and not Celsius!

My friend recommended me to buy this product. The Teflon coating on the surface of the device has the function of preventing static electricity and corrosion, so it feels safer when measuring DEF or battery fluid, and it also can be used to protect the product well. It is a useful meter.

I have used it for more than one month. It is easy to use. The refractometer I received has been calibrated and can be measured directly. After comparison, I am very satisfied with the accuracy of the measurement results. Good product!

Worth the $ if you have flooded lead acid batteries
Once calibrated, this is super fast and easy to check every cell of your battery. I can do 12 cells in maybe 2 minutes, quicker if I have someone writing the info down for me. This is the ONLY way to accurately measure if your batteries are fully charging or not. You cannot rely on open voltage per cell to be as precise.This is also much cleaner than using a hydrometer that you have to suck acid up into. The refractometer uses only 1 small drop of acid from each cell. I exclusively use this refractometer to keep an eye on our $4500 battery.
