Great for putting up longer, wavy/thick hair
The 4-inch clips are my favorite everyday clip to use for pinning hair up and back in a casual twist or bun (office work environment). Works great for my slightly wavy, very thick and high-volume hair (length between shoulders and mid back). A friend with very smooth and slippery hair, thinner in volume compared to mine, found that the clips (used smaller clips than my 4-inch version) did not work as well because the clip would slip more and not hold as tight.

The ultimate hair clip
I had a hair clip similar to this way back in 2000 and every time I thought it was lost, it was a “high alert—find the clip!”. Tragically, it was permanently lost in 2016 and in my desperate attempt to replace it, I found XenClip which seems to be a fairly new brand.Function: This is the only hair clip worth using! I have long thick but fine hair—plastic clips break; hair ties are only good for a messy bun, but don’t hold hair in place while moving/working out etc. This clip is one continuous piece of metal, but also bendy, so I can shove my hair in, clip it shut and no worries. The spiral design seems to create a stability. Hair doesn’t get tangled in the clip. I’ve bought these in multiple colors and a few “refills”, mainly because I lose them around the house.Color: If you buy one in a similar shade close to your hair color, the clip is nearly invisible and creates the illusion of a nice updo—I often get compliments. But if you tend to lose them, go for the shiny metallic ones so you can spot them easier.Size: The large is the perfect size for me. The smallest ones are more like barrettes, so not so useful for holding all the hair, but more stable than a bobby-pin for an updo.Overall, if you’re looking for a hair clip that doesn’t break, holds hair in place, feels weightless and lasts, this is the one.

The only good alternative to a jaw clip!
Good concept for a barrette, holds hair up well... I myself have crushed one too many jaw clips when my head bops back on the cushion while driving. The medium size was much smaller than expected, so if you're planning on holding up a-little-longer than shoulder length hair, please get the LARGE. I had to exchange the medium for the large, which the seller graciously did, but not without over a week turnaround time. Although the hair is held tightly, my up-do did start to sag by the end of the day ... maybe we can blame that on aging? The only other issue I have is that my hair often gets tangled in the curved end part of the clip where it interlocks with the "bobby pin" part... easy to untangle out but surely cannot remove this clip as quickly as a jaw clip.

Fabulous
I absolutely love these hair clips. I have very thick longish curly hair and these are the only clips that are strong and flexible enough to hold all of my hair. Thank you for your wonderful product 👍

I bought this barrette in large size several years ago, shouldn't have waited so long to get this size
I purchased this barrette in large from QVC when I saw it there several years ago. I have a large container filled with all sorts of clips and barrettes, ponytail holders, etc. But, the ZannClip is the only clip that is consistently comfortable and never slips. There is a knock-off sold in drugstores by a major manufacturer but, it doesn't have the stem that holds the clip snuggly in the hair. Rather than throwing out $8+ on a subpar product, I decided to search for the ZannClip when I cut my hair & wanted a smaller clip. I cut 5" off the length of my hair and the large clip still holds onto my hair. But, I wanted the small size so I could pull back the sides of my hair only. You can Google ZannClip to find videos of how to use the barette and how to select the right size for your hair type and length. Yes, this barrette is 4x as expensive as the aforementioned knock-off but, it's worth every dime. The only time I've used a barrette other than my large ZannClip is when I misplaced it. To help reduce the possibility of that happening and because I wear gold and silver jewelry, I opted to buy one each of the gold plated and platinum plated small ZannClip. FYI - this is not a flimsy product. Yes, it's flexible so you can bend it around your hair but, it's not cheap-feeling.

This looks like a great idea
This looks like a great idea, but doesn't perform as I had hoped. I have long, very thick & heavy hair and it is hard to find a barrette that can hold it securely since Goody stopped making the giant size barrette many years ago. But, it is hard to hold onto this clip while positioning and securing in hair and it doesn't have a tight hold. You may be able to keep hair back loosely, but you won't be able to roll or flip hair up and secure with this clip - its just not tight or strong enough to hold the weight. If you want to give it a try, I suggest looking for one of the less expensive versions and trying that first. This was very expensive for an item that really doesn't work perform.

Smaller than I'd hoped
I purchased this with the intention of being able to put my waist-length hair into a quick up-do for housework, swimming, workouts, etc. Initially I was pretty disappointed, because it was way too small to manage all of my heavy hair. However, I've since trimmed/layered my hair, so it fits in the clip now, although it's a snug fit. Bottom line: if you have a lot of hair, this probably isn't going to work for an up-do, although it'll still be fine as a regular clasp for a pony tail. But when it does work, it seems quite secure and unlikely to deform or break.

Easy, quick, and holds so well!
OK, so I love updos but cannot do them. Also, I have very fine very smooth hair that usually slips out of most clips. These are just awesome! My favorite way to wear them are to:1) make a ponytail with a regular elastic, then hold it up against my head and put the clip in - the ponytail is intantly higher and falls prettily down (I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself right)2) use it instead of a ponytail holder vertically, like you would a banana clip3) make a quick bun or faux French twist and use this to pin it with just one clipAlso, the company has excellent customer service! I ordered a couple more of these as a Christmas gift, and the shipment ended up being delayed, through no fault of the seller, just weather, and they sent me an email warning me of that and even sent me a couple extra clips free of charge (I did not call them or complain or anything - they just did this proactively!)
