Excellent outdoor connector - but it is big
This outdoor connector is excellent. I have used it to extend 2 pole solar lights. Though this one is a 3 pole connector, it still works with 2 poles. Just ensure you put them in the right bit (it is labelled).Item comes well packed. The actual connector itself is actually quite big, so if you are in a tight space, then this really is not the one for you. It feels solid and waterproof and so far has performed well in the heavy rain over the last week.Only reason I have given 4* is because when moving the connector, the light flickers. I have connected it properly, but if you leave it in one spot, it's totally fine.Pros -Well builtWaterproof even in puddlesIt worksCons -Quite bigWhen moved, light flickers

This is an excellent product. I bought it as I was installing some LED floodlamps that came with a ridiculously short piece of flex and I didn't want to put in a full IP rated junction box. These inline couplers are ideal as they fit nicely behind the floodlamp, remaining out of site. I ended up cable tying mine to the bracket of the lamp. One end of the connector has a large grommet, ideally suited to armoured cable of around 12mm diameter (but it does compress as you tighten the nut as with normal IP cable glands), the other end has a two-part gromet which brings the internal diameter down to be suitable for as small as 6mm flex. There's plenty of room inside the connector for the cable at the flex end and I found it best to keep the cables relatively short at the armoured cable end. The connector floats in the middle of the case, tightening up when it is all screwed together. It was hard initially to get the cables into the terminals, especially when connecting the armoured cable, due to how stiff the cable is. This is by no means a fault of the product, it just requires a little patience (I found the terminals had a tendency to push out of the end of the plastic holder as I was trying to feed the armoured cable in, prior to tightening up the terminal screws).Everything tightens without requiring tools, seals on all junctions to give what appears to be good weatherproofing. I've not submerged them in water to see how effective the seals are, but I don't particularly feel the need to either! So all in all, I've enjoyed using these connectors, I would recommend them and I'd use them again personally if I was to join two round cables externally.

Good, but could be improved.
I'm happy with the overall quality of these connectors in respect of their waterproofing. Where I have concerns is the internal connector block because it uses terminal screws that tend to cut the cable strands, also wiring is a bit of a faff, particularly when working on a ladder when the hands are cold. I don't do much wiring these days, but when I had my electrical company I tended to use exterior connectors for PIR that utised a connection system which didn't even require stripping of the core insulation. A lot of connectors these days have pretty rudimentary cable clamping systems, so this isn't alone in that respect, but it could easily be better. I like the glands and sealing ring which certainly feel as if they will keep the water out.

Great product - well designed
Great product - well designed, easy to use and makes a good seal.Wanted to extend the cable for my electric mower, so I didn't have to get the extension lead out each time. This plus a 10m reel of three core cable and a new plug did the job perfectly. Very simple to use, just make sure you have slid the screw ends / seals onto the cable before you attached the wires to the internal junctions. Being able to accept a wide variety of cable widths also makes life very easy.I notice some people in the questions concerned about the lack of a cable clamp/strain relief - worrying that using it with a mobile appliance/power tool could cause it to come out. Once I completed the job, I yanked the cables as hard as I could and they didn't budge a mm, so I'm pretty happy with how secure they are. Obviously your mileage may vary :)

Excellent product
Bought this to use with an LED external light which is already hard wired. The holes on each side of this product have rubber seals that compress as you tighten the nuts. Easy to use and will accommodate most 3 cable. As mine is outdoors on an exposed wall, I applied some clear silicon seal after wiring it up. I keep is horizontal too with the wires trailing down to prevent water entry (which should not happen anyway). Remember to bend you cables up in a loop before entry into electrical devices. This will allow rain water to drip away from the light.

Excellent inline connectors
Excellent inline connectors. One end fitted with orange compression O-ring that unscrews, It is this end that you feed cable with into centre barrel. Other end unscrews entirely to reveal round plastic inline housing constructed around a 3 core metal double screwed terminals. This pops out to enable easy wiring. Once all wired up pull cable into outer housing so that everything can be secured with compression O-rings either side. This is a good quality build connector with the bonus that you are supplied with 2. For added piece of mind for prevention of water penetration that I doubt will occur you could always squirt small amount of clear silicone either end of central inner barrel connector. Hope this helps. An excellent seller.

Clever and compact design for making water-tight joints in mains or low-voltage wiring.
Clever and compact design for making water-tight joints in mains wiring. The enclosure unscrews (a water-tight gasket joints the two parts). Each section has a screw-on cap that compresses a rubber grommet to make a seal around the wire. Inside the enclosure there is a removable circular three-pole connecting block. I have used three of these now, two to make connections for three-core mains cables, and one to make a connection for a telephone line. For the telephone lines I used jelly-crimps to make the connections so I removed the mains connecting block and stuffed my big mess of wires and crimps inside. Seems to work very well and it looks neat and tidy.
