Brilliant for the struggling, uninterested reader.
I was sceptical despite the reviews that my child would read this. Sheβs nearly 15 and never really read a book. She lacks confidence reading out loud and struggles with dyslexia. I also worried that as the protagonist was a boy she may not relate. She loved it and read it in two days.

Definitely for teens only!
A great little book from the publishers Barrington Stoke on their specially designed buff paper and print to help people with SLD and Irlens. Pete Johnson writes quick paced witty novels which often appeal to boys reluctant to read. Some Barrington Stokes appeal to younger readers (4U2read) but this is definitely for the older readers because of the content. It is not graphic, but it is about a young boy wandering what on earth is wrong with his friends when they start swapping War Hammer for girl friends. It is about relationships and feelings and growing up, whilst remaining very light hearted and tongue in cheek.

I bought this for my 13 year old reluctant reader grandson for Christmas. He told his mother the next morning that he opened it and it seemed good and then read it cover to cover in one read. The first book ever read in one go for him. He asked me to get him the sequel - The Return of the Unteenager.

Perfect for age 12-13 yr old boy.
Short and sweet, but son was too embarrassed to use it as a school reading book??

My son loved it!!
I was so chuffed that my 12 year old couldn't put this down. It dealt with puberty issues & young love. This household loves Pete Johnson.

Great.
Kid loved this book and is a fan of Pete Johnson (Check out 'Catch you on the Flipside' for older teens), only disappointing thing, it was so short!
