Cacao Pow!
Repeat customer here. Loved from the first use. Super healthy, switched to Zint cacao every morning instead of coffee. Raw Cacao from Zint is organic which is preferred. Cacao has many great properties: *protects cells from damage and aging *actively reduces the occurrence of high blood pressure and cardiovascular illnesses by lowering nitric oxide levels, relaxing vessels, and cleansing the blood *contributes to blood pressure decreasing and overall detoxification *controls and manages the damage induced by free radicals over time *its powerful antioxidant properties surpass even those of blueberries, goji berries, and acai seeds (they make up approximately 10% of cacao’s normal composition) *is an abundant source of minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, etc.) *considerably reduces the risk of heart stroke and brain damage *helps regulate insulin resistance *by containing high levels of resveratrol, cacao facilitates brain protection and optimizes neurological functions (resveratrol represents an antioxidant which can also be found in red wine and which is renowned for its capacity to cross the brain-blood ‘barrier’)Of course, everything in moderation. Your body may respond differently to Cacao so ease into it. We prepare with a pure nut milk like cashew or walnut, add two table spoons of Zint cacao, a table spoon of sweetner like organic maple syrup and slowly heat. Bam! Stir and enjoy!!

OLDER BAG... & Warning Label Info
TWO THINGS: 1) I got an OLDER bag!! (SEE PICS) I called Zint. They said the bag should have an expiration date of AT LEAST ONE YEAR. The bag I just got today expires in 4 MONTHS!!UPDATE: I returned first bag, got ANOTHER with the SAME exp date. Returned that one, and got another one with a 3 month exp date... which is even WORSE!I called Zint again and they will be shipping out a new supply to Amazon in 2 weeks. This is probably why I've been getting Amazon's older stock.2) NOTES ON THE WARNING LABEL: Zint is FORCED to put that warning label on it even though it's really unwarranted!! They rigorously test the product and it's well BELOW the limits. Here's what they emailed me:From Zint: "The reason you see this warning sticker appearing on some of our products is because of new 2018 labeling rules around California's Prop 65, which has been around since 1986. Prop 65 is a controversial law because it imposes extremely low regulatory limits for certain elements compared to other regulatory agencies such as FDA, WHO, and EPA. Many believe the Prop 65 limits are unreasonable, as they are unsubstantiated by proof that these amounts pose any health risks at all. And in the case of certain plant-based superfoods, trace amounts of some heavy metals like lead are basically impossible to avoid, as they are naturally present in the soil, air, and environment. Here’s the important thing to know about Zint: all of our products are lab-tested for purity, have no chemicals or other ingredients added, and fall well within the safety limits set by regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, and WHO. In just a couple of cases, we have a product that exceeds the extremely low limits set by Prop 65 in one or two areas, in which case we’re obligated to add the warning sticker. Because new Prop 65 rules go into effect in 2018, you'll soon see nearly every superfood brand add these warning labels to their products. But because of rigorous third-party testing, our adherence to national safety standards, and our commitment to pure, clean, natural nutrition, we really don't believe people need to be alarmed by these new warnings on Zint products."

Really delicious Cocoa.
We'll use this for whatever we need cocoa for. I use it to make "Mexican coffee" every morning. I start with whatever sweetener you like, but a double dose to counteract the slight bitterness of the cocoa. With that in my mug I add one half teaspoon of cocoa, one quarter teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix it together well to break up any lumps. Add hot coffee while stirring and leave room for your creamer. Add your creamer while still stirring. This is really delicious! Especially during the cold mornings. You'll have to adjust the recipe for your tastes, but remember, this cocoa is potent and goes a long way. My wife was critical until she tasted it.

Very fresh and raw!
I think the cacao powder is good- it's definitely fresh and can tell it's raw and pure cacao powder. I have ordered pure cacao powder before many times from a different company so I am new to this product. I can tell it's more "raw"(if that makes any sense). Only reason why I didn't give it 5star is that, because i purchased this to make dark chocolate, and it is much more "strong" in flavor, including bitterness, my dark chocolate ended up tasting too "raw" and too "strong(including bitterness). I am sure some people will actually prefer this type of flavor, and I may too, but I need time to play with my recipe to know for certain. As this product is new, I wanted to leave a review as soon as possible for the company sake, hence for now, 4 star rating. I will leave new/adjusted review later once i have been able to try new/adjusted recipes.

Buyer beware.
Item is not exactly as described. Item states, for a 8oz pkg, 75 1-tsp servings at 15 calories each. When item arrived, a 8oz pkg actually only has 45 1-tbsp servings at 20 calories each. Ingredients are slightly different as well from what is listed. Not quite the bang for your buck as described, however, I do like the taste of the cacao itself.

Okay, but not great
This cacao powder seems to have a bitter/sour flavour. I found it did not produce a very good flavour in baking, but was okay to drink. Would not purchase again.
