Works great for dental photography
I use this for dental photography and it works great! Easy to set up as well

Can’t say much about quality of this compared to other brands because I’ve never used a ring flash before. But I got it attached to my Canon Rebel t4i and it works as it should and flashes automatically when I take my photo. :)

Works well with only one minor problem
Does a great job with macro photography. I use it to shoot product photography, especially jewelry and close-ups of product labels. The only reason I give it a 4 star instead of 5, my Nikon Z does not detect the flash and therefore does not compensate the preview in the viewfinder for it, leaving it dark in macro situations. The only workaround is to manually adjust the view mode or enable the starlight mode.

Works great, bright flash
Works great with my Canon EOS M6 Mark II, using my Canon EF 100mm IS USM macro lens (67mm in diameter). I'm not sure why Canon sells ring flashes for $600 when this one works great and is compatible for <$100. Very happy with this purchase.

Affordable and Easy to Use
I'm not a regular macro shooter, but I was looking for a way to better light my shots when I do delve into macro work. This little kit is a great value. Lighting from the ring light seems to be even with 11 stops (1/1 down to 1/32 in half-stop increments). The buttons are well-marked and easy to use. The hot shoe mount works with a variety of cameras, including my Panasonic (G9). Build quality seems very good (it is all plastic, but that is not unusual for this kind of rig, and the plastic is decent quality).My frustrations/disappointments are few. First, the unit is powered by 4 AA batteries. While battery life seems to be pretty good (~100 flashes so far and going strong), there is no good way to monitor remaining battery life, and rechargeable battery would have made this unit so much nicer. The use of AAs makes the unit heavier than it would otherwise need to be. Second, the cable from the main unit to the ring light is hard-wired. A removeable cable would have been nicer in the off chance you damage the cable. The mounting rings don't cover all lens sizes. In fact, the smallest size is 49mm, and many of my mirrorless lenses are smaller than that. I wish they had included some smaller sizes. And finally, there is no case included to easily store the unit with all of the mounting rings, so it would be very easy to misplace the rings.For the price, I can easily overlook the shortcomings of this unit. It provides great macro lighting at a low price, making this ideal for those who only shoot macro occasionally -- or for those just getting started with macro.
