Perfect slim, lightweight cover for new 2017 iPad
After spending a week looking at all the new 2017 iPad covers Amazon carries and reading all the reviews, I decided to take a chance on one that didn't have any reviews written yet. I'm very glad I did. It fits the new iPad perfectly. It snaps on easily and securely. All the ports are readily accessible. The magnetic cover is strong. It holds the typing position and movie position very well. It's slim and lightweight. The back cover is not slippery and doesn't show finger prints. The metallic navy color is very attractive. It's a subtle metallic which adds a little richness and depth to the color. No manufacturing flaws noted. It looks and feels like an expensive cover. Highly recommend.

Good design, not sure I like the material
I've had a number of so-called "smart covers" for iPads over the years, so I had a good idea of what I wanted. The ones I've had in past that have been very similar to this have had faux leather covers, and they've worked very well. However, after a while when they wear, I get a lot of loose threads pulling off and the faux leather texture ends up peeling at the edges.Cut to this case and my first impressions. Note that, as of this writing, I haven't even put it on the iPad yet and I've got some positives and negatives already in mind. The case itself feels quite well designed and constructed. Compared to similar MonoPrice cases of this design I've had through the years, this one just feels more "well made" than those ones. It feels a little heavier but not bulky. The foldable cover is nice and stiff but pliable enough to easily fold under when making a stand. Even without the iPad in it, I can tell that this one has a much stronger magnet, which I appreciate. When I slide these cases into a backpack, the cover of my MonoPrice case would often shift off, waking the screen and making noise. Even without the iPad in it, the magnet closes to the case itself very firmly. The back, which I assume is polycarbonate underneath a thin layer of rubberized material (that also envelops the front of the cover), is sturdy and looks like it will cover the sides and edges of the iPad well. I can see this being very protective of the iPad against dings and drops (but I'm not going to dare test that out if I can avoid it!)On to the negatives. The inside of the back does not have the same microfiber texture that is in the inside of the cover. This is a minor quibble, but I like having that on past cases to help protect the metal back of the iPad from incidental scratching from the case. My biggest qualm with the case has to be the rubberized material that makes up the vast majority of its composition. It is a dust, lint and oily fingerprint MAGNET! I've only handled the case once or twice since obtaining it, and again I haven't even put my iPad in it yet, and it's picking up fine lint and dust like crazy. Rubberized and silicone cases often - but not always - do that. If I have sweaty palms or fingers (and I'm a guy that often does), it will easily transfer and very easily show on the case, but it will eventually evaporate without leaving (much) evidence. If my fingers are even very very slightly oily, those prints stick and stay visible unless I physically wipe the case down. This is something I didn't have with the faux leather cases of the past. Whether the lint and fingerprint issues make this case a dealbreaker in the future will remain to be seen, but it is very noticeable right now even after only a day or two of - more or less - non use. I may pick up a faux leather case just for comparison. It sucks because I like the construction and look of the case. Maybe I'll just start sticking decals on it to mask those issues. The rubberized texture does, I should say, provide a little grippiness to the case that lacks on the faux leather versions, which I like having two kids using the iPad with slippy fingers. All in all a well made case, but if you're obsessive about the look of the case, you may want to look elsewhere.

Very sharp looking and great form factor. Mfg quality not perfect
The "metallic" front cover looks very sharp, true to the pics. And I really like the classic design: good protection and simple effective cut outs for the controls and sensors. The finish / paint on the back cover has some flaws as you can see from my pics. Was hoping for better since this costs more than the cheapest cases. But overall the form factor is excellent and the metallic look is super sharp, while the flaws aren't too obvious.

VERY NICE
Yes, there is a but. The light weight is very nice. Color nice. Fit is excellent. The finish on the cover is great. Excellent grip. The back, however, is extremely smooth. I am afraid I will drop it at some point, because I can’t get a good grip on it. That is the only thing I would change. I would put texture into the back material, or make it a little sticky like silicone, so that your fingers don’t slide off it so easily? JANUARY: Standing the back up 6 inches works fine. But, to type, you need something no higher than three. That doesn’t work at all. Later, figured out if I fold the cover backwards, it will stand tall (6 inches) or low (3 inches).

Good Case But Bad Stand
I bought for new new 5th gen Ipad. My old Ipad had a Tucano case that protected the iPad, put the iPad into sleep mode and functioned as a stand when using the iPad in reading mode on a table. The Roartz case also protects the the iPad and puts it into sleep mode when the case is closed. However, the stand mode is useless in Roartz. The angle of the screen is too steep and and the case in stand mode it is not stable enough to keep it from frequently falling over. After have been used to using the folding cover as a very convenient stand, the Roartz cover is a big step down and basically forces you to use the iPad laying flat on the table to hold it in your hand. Not a well designed product.

Quality doesn't last
I bought this back in April. It was great at first, but 4 months later it is starting to fall apart. I noticed the bottom of the case is cracking. I took my iPad on vacation, and it seemed to happen during that time, so I'm wondering if it's sensitive to heat? Either way, it's disappointing that the quality is not holding up and I would not buy this product again.

Terrible - complete waste of money - falling apart within WEEKS.
Absolutely terrible - I bought 2 of these for my kids' ipads. My kids take GREAT care of their ipads and the previous case they each had for over a year and it looked perfect. We have had these for just over 1 month and they look like they've been through war. The case is peeling away all across theComplete waste of money (over $35). Totally annoyed that the return window closed 2 weeks ago and I finally just noticed that they were in terrible shape. No way to get a hold of the seller either. Amazon is really screwing customers with this 3rd party seller stuff. I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere.

Gorgeous!
Love it! It's the prefect fit. I was torn between the ESR for half the price but I wasn't sold on it. It was a risky move for me getting this since there weren't any reviews before. My mom wanted the boring Space Grey color but I persuaded her to get the Metallic Navy Blue or Metallic Brown. The Metallic Navy is just as sleek and classy as pictured. The iPad popped right in and it props it up well for viewing. Thumbs up!
