This practice pad is a heavy weight, responsive, tunable tool used to improve hand technique. It's playable by itself, or capable of resting in any standard snare drum stand. The playing area is 12" from side to side. The pad can be rested on any flat surface with confidence it will not budge due to the sturdy wood base that connects the adjustable rim.

A perfect snare pad!
What it is:1) Hands down the most realistic snare pad I've ever played.2)Sturdy.What it isn't:1) A marching snare pad2) A gum rubber pad - volume is akin to a Remo or RamPad3) Super portable - about 12x3, or the size of a small piccolo snareI swapped the head out for a Remo coated ambassador. You'll want to replace the head with your favorite 12" -- it's worth it to complete the realistic feel.You'll appreciate the 12" diameter as it offers plenty of room to practice playing in various "zones." You'll even get a different timbre as you move around the pad. It fits comfortably on your snare or in a standard basket.The rim height and contour is almost identical to a typical snare rim. This is especially helpful for checking technique and making sure you don't "rim out." Also is very nice for set players wanting to work on rim shots.What's more, adjustable tension with real tension rods!Seasoned players and students alike will want to seriously consider this pad. Gum rubber pads are great for quiet practice, and you should have one of those too. This pad from Rhythm Traders may just be the best investment you'll ever make.

Perfect for Stick Control
Great pad. Closest thing to the old school Ludwig pad I have been able to find. Very impressive.
