I imagine the red color is something that appealed more to me as a fisherman than it actually matters to the fish. Still, I was a little disappointed that the finish is not durable. First fish I caught, I noticed before I even used my pliers to unhook it from the fish's mouth, that the finish was all scratched up and showing a bare steel color underneath.That said, these hooks are shaped well, they're sharp, and I don't hesitate to use them. I tie a modified snell knot with 6lb flurocarbon for these, and fish Berklee PowerBait worms under a fixed or slip bobber, or on a dropshot rig, and catch trout with them. If anything, my hookup rate with these was higher than with the other hooks I was using before.

Bought these in size 2, 4, and 6. (250 hooks!) Use for finesse bass fishing for small smallmouth. They seem to hold as well as any other hook, and seem sharp enough. I smash the barbs for all my fishing (it’s safer for both fish and angler and can improve the hook set as well). In the photos they look identical to Gamakatsu hooks, but they are not. I find this to be deceptive advertising. My second (related) complaint is that the way these barbs are cut is old school, creating a thick barb that doesn’t really punch down all the way. Would probably not buy again.

I've been fishing for years . These offset hooks are great . You will have a good catch rate with these if you're at least decent at fishing.

Nice hooks

For the value and how many you get these are definitely worth it. I dont have to hold my fishing rod anymore to catch something because it hooks itself. These are also great for catfish.
