Excellent optics. Performance is limited by phone, not cardboard.
Tried this with three phones so far: Galaxy S3, iPhone6, and LG S2 (as well as a 10" tablet ;-). Works fine on all of them, but the newer phones work better of course. My older Galaxy S2 didn't work since the Android OS was not at rev 4 or above. On the Galaxy S3, the pixels are very visible and somewhat objectionable. On the iPhone6, they are visible, but generally acceptable. On the LG S2, the resolution is somewhere in-between (acceptable though). And the tablet? It worked since it presented the VR app's videos in split-screen in a small area of the screen (about 4.7" diagonal region). But its pretty bad resolution since its then using a small subset of the overall screen. And of course you have to fold over the Cardboard front cover and hold it carefully in position - not a generally usable approach !On all phones tried, the phones fit well and stayed in place. Most important, the immersion you get is very good and my field of view was well filled. In my opinion, the only thing lacking is a sharper, realistic image. But that is not the fault of the Cardboard. The fact that you can see the pixels even on a modern iPhone6 clearly means the lenses are excellent and the experience is limited by the phone. Moreover, if you look carefully at the scenes, you can see they are quite low resolution - sometimes lower than the pixel resolution itself. So all this Cardboard needs is a couple more generations of phones with 2 to 4 times the resolution they have now. I wonder if that will happen - since there is no need for it other than when it is magnified like this. But in the next gen, at least the processor power should increase, allowing more high-res computer-generated scenes.NOTE: I found that I had a tendency to hold the Cardboard a little too low - with my forehead touching the top of it. If I pushed it up a little then the image became more clear. Some experimenting with such alignment issues is important for a good effect.Very cool thing for folks using Android phones: Using Android's YouTube app, search for "360 video". There are _lots_ of "360" vids, and no need to install a separate app for each thing you're viewing. And they're just as good in quality as the dedicated VR apps that I've tried. Calling them 360 is not doing them justice. They are, like the VR apps, generally capable of showing you stuff overhead and underfoot, as well as in a 360 degree circle. Be sure to hit the Cardboard symbol in the lower right corner of the video when its playing in order to get it into split-screen mode. Unfortunately, this doesn't work yet on iPhones. You can see 360 video when using the phone by itself, but there is no icon to put it into split-screeen mode to able to use it with Cardboard which adds 3D and immersion. Apparently they're working on getting the iPhone a suitable app though.

Fun with iphone 5s
I am using this with an iPhone 5s. So I knew before buying this that it was never going to be equal to the oculus or anything similar but I was curious. So I mainly wanted to use this with xbmc (cydia) and watch my 3d movies. It works great but you have to tinker with the aspect ratio settings ( in xbmc it's pixel ratio) the only thing I didn't realize is how well you do see each individual pixel. I did get a bit dizzy at first but I had just put in my contacts for the first time and I kept tinkering with settings and putting it on taking it off repeatedly so we'll see how it gets over time. I have not tried any vr apps or movies yet, like gopano.com videos but am very excited to try. Go have fun. It's worth the curiosity.

Bad design for VR glasses made using cardboard
Sadly, this broke/ripped on Christmas Eve as my son and I were putting together next to the tree. I just found the package with the unusable VR cardboard glasses and realized that I never gave people a heads up on this item. The design is awful. There is no way cardboard can be an effective material when the design clearly calls for a very study materiel----not a thick paper such as card board. I don't know about other VR cardboard glasses. It would depend on whether they designed it properly to work with cardboard. So, read reviews carefully.

Not good for large phones, flimsy, thin cardboard
Doesn't say what size screens it will fit, and thus doesn't fit larger phones (like my Nexus 6). Cardboard is moderately thin and after 1 use was already bending in places. Design isn't very sturdy... the bottom part wont stay together and thus the piece that splits the screen into left and right and allows you to center the phone doesn't stay put and makes it hard to center. Google cardboard is great and I've had another Google cardboard kit which was much sturdier.... and that one was free. This one just feels cheap. Kind of a let down, but I'll get some use out of it.

Far and away the best lenses on any Cardboard kit.
Of the three Google Cardboard headsets I've purchased, this one is the cheapest, and has easily the best quality lenses by far. The field of view is not as wide as some other models, but I've found that a wider FoV makes for blurry and dizzying peripheral vision, so the smaller FoV works with this headset. It's crystal clear, no focal adjustment necessary. If you're looking to try Google Cardboard for the first time, you absolutely should start with this headset. Best price, best lenses, and if you dig it you can get some head straps for another five bucks and call it a day. I will absolutely be using this model to introduce others to Cardboard.

Google Cardboard pre-assembled
It's basically a pre-assembled Google Cardboard. The cardboard piece needed to be folded together and the instructions weren't amazing, but buying this was a heck of a lot easier than buying my own lenses and cutting the cardboard myself. It's a cheap and wonderful virtual reality solution for the curious consumer who can't afford actual VR headgear. I used it with my Samsung Galaxy S3 (and the VR apps from Google Play) and everything worked. I was definitely satisfied.

Great for the price
Works well with Iphone 6 with lifeproof case only problem is you have to clean the lenses but for the price it's a really great deal.

it doesn't have a head strap, the magnet toggle switch doesn't work with my phone
The toggle switch doesn't work with my Sony Xperia z5, z2. Maybe it will work with other phones.

Rubber band quality isn't the best, but it works
Exactly as described. Rubber band quality isn't the best, but it works. Also, the black cardboard fibers kind of stick to the lenses. Overall it's not bad for the price and it's kinda neat to have a VR alternative to spending hundreds of dollars.
