Bought on a whim, now addicted
I have to say this series is so darn cute it really does hurt! I find myself looking forward to each new volume as soon as I finish the one Im reading. I especially love how Megu and Aoi's relationship is developing and cant wait to see it advance even further. I think the fact that she now found something she is interested in pursuing (being a manga artist) is really great for her!I am also glad to see that Mitsuru and Azuza seem like they will be a good match and help each other heal and open up to others respectively. This relationship has really started to grow on me.Though not the most exciting volume it is hinting at upcoming drama, so stay tuned folks!

An annoying installment in an inconsistent series
Much of Volume 6 feels like the author spinning things out in order to keep the series going. Megumu suddenly discovers an artistic talent and contemplates becoming a manga artist. (A bad sign, when comic authors start making characters comic creators, since it usually means they’ve run out of other ideas and are falling back on their everyday experiences.) There’s ham-handed foreshadowing of “conflict coming!”, going so far that at a certain point, the captions actually say that. Apparently, we’ll finally get to see that in next book, since this one is just hints and portents.Mitsuru has been spending time with Azusa while his heart heals from his departed first love. She’s such an opposite from the quiet Shino — Azusa is a model, willing to be devious if needed to keep a job and spending her time in a world full of competition and a focus on surface appearance. She’s demanding and aggressive and likely to end up with him.I was looking forward to seeing more of Mitsuru, but his storyline with Azusa is used as an excuse to say that as a tough girl, she just needs a guy to protect her in order to find her softer feelings and become an “ordinary girl”. Volume 5 seemed so comforting and reassuring to me, while volume 6 is so annoying, in large part due to the treatment of Azusa. (The publisher provided a review copy. Reading on...
I'm reading on... Not a masterpiece but Gō Ikeyamada knows a thing or two about creating very readable shōjo manga. In this volume the reader finds out that Megu is exceptionally good at drawing history comics so she tries drawing people as well. The faces are usually wonderful but she has no idea of how to draw a human body whatsoever. Her drawings were so funny. There's a new protagonist making his debut on this volume but uhm... don't know what to think about him.I really like the part about Azusa and Mitsuru where he declares that he will protect her.Maybe the story could be a little more fast because I'm reading a lot of pages and nothing really happens.
