i.Trek Suction Cup Windshield 9-Inch Mount with 17mm Ball Joint for Garmin Nuvi (Black)

Our 2014 Subaru Forester has a deep dash. The wife said that she had a hard time comfortably reaching her Note 4, in the nav dock. This windshield mount fit the bill.It's long enough, but due to the length, it was bouncy. I solved this by fabricating a foot. It was just some stuff I had in the spare parts bin and a larger zip tie. It's comprised of a plastic tube, it's origin I don't recall, a chair foot and the zip tie. Works like a clamp! I bought this to hold our GPS in our Toyota minivan. The windshield slopes very steeply away and the normal mount was just too short. I bent this one almost double and it holds the GPS right under the rear-view mirror. Rock-solid, it is actually hard to bend into tight curves. Only complaint is the rubber/vinyl sleeve around the bendy part split off a bit. Don;t really notice it so we don;t much care.

Love the length of this mount. Fits just right for my 7" GPS. Only thing I would point out is the GPS shacks very little while driving but not enough to be annoying. Still able to view GPS clearly while moving. Overall I like this mount.

This would be a great item if the suction-cup wasn't so under-sized and flimsy. The neck of the unit is very strong and very long, which places the GPS (or cell phone... or whatever) right where you can easily access it. Sadly, the critical failing in the design is the lackluster suction-cup. It holds well enough in the warmer months, but as soon as freezing-temps arrive, this thing will not stay on your windshield. What happens is that the rubber which the suction-cup is made from gets very ridged in the colder temps. Once it hardens up it just falls off whatever it's stuck to.

It's the best value for this type of mount. It just works. The one I got has 2 ball joints which is great to make the setup easier. I highly recommend it.

Good suction

I have mixed reactions to this product. First, if you have a need for the long arm on this mount, it definitely meets that need. But, the arm is very stiff to adjust, which I believe is intentional to attempt to minimize the bouncing while driving that something like a GPS will induce when mounted on the end of the long arm. It still bounces some. I decided that I like the shorter arm mounts.
