PERFECT
I must admit this is rather expensive but I think it will be worth every penny. So well designed. I've spent years backpacking but can't face lugging a backpack around ALL the time anymore. The wheels are sturdy & the small bag is a perfect size for hand-baggage, plenty of room for ipad, kindle, change of clothes etc. The main bag is very comfortable despite being fairly heavy, it has brilliant padding on the back and the bit that clips round your waist takes all the weight off your shoulders. I also like the fact it is side opening so you don't have to delve around for things. Lots of useful pockets too. I think if I designed a bag it would be exactly like this!

Flexible and Strong
This pack has a separable day-pack and special pockets for laundry and footwear. At the rear, the whole back unzips to reveal straps, the loose material folding away underneath. The day-pack has two main pockets, the front containing slots for pens and a phone. While the wheels are very convenient, the rucksack feature is a bit awkward: the suitcase prevents my arms from moving normally when I walk. In addition, the day-pack tends to detach from the main case without a lock to hold the zipper closed.Improvements: Secure zip for the day-pack, a 'laundry pocket' big enough for more than one item of clothing, a rain cover.

Tough enough for rough travelling, smart enough for a decent hotel.
Been using one of these for three 4 months stints in SE Asia over the last year and a bit. Never failed, perfect size, wheels big enough to take all but the roughest tracks. A little wide when carried on your back but the width makes it very stable when used on its wheels.

good choice
I ordered this for my son who is travelling to South America this summer, I read loads of reviews and found it hard to make up my mind, but this seemed to tick all the boxes. He is delighted with it, as yet it has to be tried out 'on the road', but so far so good. It was one of the most expensive, but hopefully will prove worth it. He particularly liked the removable day sack, and the generous size, plus it was well finished.

Versatile, functional and robust
This is a very useful and versatile form of luggage. It is robust, functional and appears to be of good quality. The small rucksack is excellent for a day pack and also for taking on aircraft as hand luggage. It's a pity I didn't have it when doing previous long distance walks with luggage transport between overnight stops. Carrying the full luggage to and from the drop-off points was often a struggle and this would have been ideal.

Naja...

May be the perfect piece of luggage
I just received the Caribee Sky Master 70 today, and I am impressed. This is a very well designed pack. Everything that should lock, does. The daypack locks to the main bag. All except the smallest exterior openings all lock. The zippers are very substantial (unlike my last bag that I ripped the zipper apart on its 3rd trip. Inside it has real compression straps. Not the flimsy straps or cover that just flops over your clothes, but real compression straps. The separate shoe pocket was a nice touch as well.I will know more once I've loaded it for our upcoming trip to Europe next month, but the backpack suspension is much more than I expected. It's not the form fitting, uber-engineered system of a Dana Design I used to own, but it is far superior to anything I've seen on hybrid-rolling piece of luggage. And when not in use, all the straps on the main pack and the day pack all pack away very nicely. The concern that was top of my mind when I ordered was would the waist belt be long enough for my 46 inch waist. It is plenty long with several inches to spare. If you are looking for a hybrid rolling-backpack piece of luggage, pay very serious attention to this bag.

love it so far
Been using it for about a year, love it so far. I have taken it camping and through some crazy terrain and i love that i can wheel it and at any moment just shoulder it and carry it through some places. Very versatile, yet the only minus is a pretty big one. Its difficult to get at the straps easily. You have to unzip a compartment at the rear to get at the straps. It would be much easier if Caribee made some kind of easy access for the straps and got rid of the whole zip pouch. There were moments in the subway i would love to just grab the straps instead of stopping, up-zipping.. a hassle. The whole point of the straps is to make the bag able to quickly go from rolling to backpack, and this process has to be quick. I really want to give this 5 stars, if Caribee makes the straps easier to get at, this would be the best travel bag ever in existence, ever.

Easy Traveller
I heard so much about this Caribee Sky Master and bought it to try on my trip to Europe. Well I must say, it's one of the best pieces of luggage I ever used.Lot's of space and compartments, the backpack feature came in handy when we had to carry our luggage from the bus station to the ferry docks. Everyone else lugged there luggage over cobblestone roads for about 1km. We just unzipped the back of our Caribee's and pulled out the straps and converted our luggage into a backpacks and clipped the napsack on the front. No sweat and easy to walk with and best of all, we were the first to get to the Ferry Boat and start our drinks!Only complaint, need to make this product easier to buy in Canada - thank god for US relatives. :)

2 inches too long
This would be an awesome bag if the main bag was just 2 inches shorter and the daypack was 1 inch longer to be more inclusive in accepting laptops--keep all other features.I will never understand why luggage-makers insist on selling bags of this "in between" size where you could carry it on if only it would fit in the overhead bin. If you go to each airline's carry-on luggage limits you'll see it ranges between 22 & 24 inches long. 22'inchers are too small or have limited versatility so I was excited to find this one. However, this bag is 26"...which is supremely frustrating since I thought I found a bag concept to my liking whose price was somewhat bearable, yet am left with no recourse than to send it back. If I wanted to check a bag it would probably be bigger than this anyway...

Poor Design, DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON
Purchased in 2013; it is now 2016. At the Caribee website, their products are warrantied for three years. At Amazon, the warranty is 30 days.Bottom line, I bought the product 2 1/2 years ago, still within it's general warranty, but am apparently stuck with it now. This product is NOT well designed: the zippers are also the joints for opening and closing. After only 5 uses, the zippers started to separate at the joints. I wrote to Caribee, they sent me back to Amazon. Neither company appears willing to address the issue SO I will NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Great day pack
Love the little day pack perfect for all kinds of trips. The larger pack is awesome wheeler but not a great pack. I don't use it like this very often because of it. No really affect me to much cause i leave the big one behind and the smaller one on day trips and evenings out. Great product!

Good bag...but
Day pack broke three days into my 8week trip to Asia and back pack straps are missing. Never came with luggage. Otherwise very sturdy for long term travel. Currently trying to inure out how to submit my claim to take advantage of the manufactures one year warranty. Hiccup number one: they are located in Australia so it appears they can't do much from there...work in progress

Works well
We used this for a trip to France last year and it held up well on planes, trains and buses and wheeling down streets. Nice to have the detachable day pack.

Handlebar does not extend.
Just ordered this bag for my upcoming trip, starting end july. When i received this today I was very excited and opened up the package with much anticipation. The bag was a good size, great! The material felt like thick and durable, great! The zippers worked well and most had loops for padlocks, great! Lots of compartments within the bag for convenient organization during my trip. great!Unfortunately, the handlebar that is supposed to extend, does not extend at all. Which effectively makes this a very heavy backpack. I am processing to have this changed, but I really dont know if everything will be done in time for my trip and whether I should go purchase another bag asap.I read a review about some straps giving way and i did not heed the advice, now my turn to share my experiences. If you are buying this for an upcoming trip and do not have much margin for time, please be careful.
