Works!!
Works much better than the Valterra gate valve. Does not have that gap at the top & bottm of the gate blade like the Valterra has. Much easier to open and close..

Made in the USA
Amazon should really change their listing for this product to reflect the LaSalle Bristol valves (3" waste and 1 1/2" gray water) are made in the USA and not China like Amazon states; they are the only RV valves still made in the USA. The LaSalle Bristol waste valve also does not have the slits on the outside edges like the Valterra 3" waste valve does which causes it to leak by the seals. But hey, who doesn't like to have waste fluid leak out on them when the cap is removed :) All waste and gray water valves have limited-term life unless they are maintained (shaft and slide valve) with a lubricant such as Dow Corning 111 o-ring silicone lubricant; ie. the shafts and slide valve will start to stick and not move easy as time progresses. I hope this helps since I have purchased/used both Valterra and Camco waste/gray water valves and found the LaSalle Bristol was the only good quality valves for both. Valterra has a good gray water but poorly designed waste valve and Camco seemed decent quality but not made in the USA and I like to support our American workers. The only down side to the LaSalle Bristol is they do not offer metal handles however, if you maintain/lubricate the valves there is no need for a metal handle.

Works great, no leaks. Handle does not come off
Handle is bonded on shaft, not threaded as far as I could tell. It would have been nice to have threaded shaft so I could extend it several inches for my RV configuration, but it is usable as is.

Used these to replace the leaking cable actuated valves on my 2005 5th wheel
Actually ordered new Bristol cable actuated valve, but it came MISSING parts but by then I had figured out that I could just unsnap and detach cable mechanism from a "regular valve", so ordered a pair of them. My old valve had a smaller boss where the handle entered but had "tabs" to align the cable pull box, BUT new valves have an extended boss for the valve stem which does the same thing (so I really did NOT need to glue small blocks to the new valves). While I had the cable removed, I lubricated it and everything works GREAT now! FYI, Bristol factory says to use silicon based 100 cPs viscosity lube on the valve seals. Just work slowly and carefully and you can do this replacement and save MONEY!

Valve arrived as described. Handle twists off!!!
I read a conflicting reviews for this product, which prompted me to place another order for different brand valve, that I had to cancel right away. I am glad I didn’t blindly followed response in FAQs section and decided to risk $16 I paid and check it myself. Despite of what was claimed in few reviews and FAQ section, the handle on this valve twists off. I will have to come back and rate this product based on performance, but otherwise it’s exactly brand and part that is currently installed on my camper and need replacement. Reason I had to make sure that handle would twist off, because I have about 4ft extension rod attached on current setup and I didn’t want to change it to flexible extension cable as I read that those fail quite more frequently and cost a lot more.

Perfect match
This valve was a perfect match for the one I replaced.
