Buy this knife
I've been learning to cook since 2020. Bought this knife in 2020. This knife has a very nice holder and it stays on my kitchen island. I wash this knife like it costs a million dollars, it never laying in the sink. I use it wash/dry and store in it's holder. Keeps an amazing edge and I use it everyday...... It's so convenient. Buy it and you'll see. But if you have small or younger kids under 15 or so. Please discourage them from using it. It's scary sharp and you will love it. I love mine

Look no further
Look no further. This is the one you want.. I’ve had it almost 6 weeks now and use it exclusively for food prep, sandwich slicing, cutting through frozen meat, deboning chicken, thin slicing carrots and potatoes, and have admired it every time It is still sharp as a razor even after heavy use all month. (I always use a wooden chopping board, never a plate, glass or stone. Do not put a knife in a dishwasher, the detergent is slightly abrasive and will dull the edge! All knives eventually get dull of course. If you do not know how to sharpen a knife by one of those little cheap sharpeners to try to keep it sharp. It will not sharpen a dull knife but they will keep a sharp knife sharp. Or get a high-quality diamond block and learn how to sharpen your knives by practice practice practice and of course YouTube videos) You will not dislike this knife. I will giving these for Christmas.

A Knife to own
I’ve had 3 Santoku knives of varying quality/price in the last year. Of my 3, this knife is made of German, & not Japanese steel. They say Japanese steel is more durable, but right out of the box it was scalpel sharp w/ a traditional 15 degree edge. Aside from running the blade once or twice across a sharpening rod before each use, I’ve not had to touch it. The handle is perfect..if you adjust your body symmetry to the cutting plane. Whereas you normally cut directly in front of yourself, keeping elbows tight and food close. When using this knife, its surprising that by turn the body into the cutting at an angle, the ergonomics become exceptional. I also love it’s 6” instead of 5”. It puts the tang off just a hair, but not enough to notice. On that you bet this is a knife to own!

good for the money
This review is for 6-inch Santoku.Below are some pros/cons for you to decide - they might be not relevant to you. There are quite a few, especially regarding its shape. But I decided not to take too many stars off.pros:1) Razer-sharp out of the box. (well, sharp enough to shave one's arm)2) nice box3) nice looks4) Elephant in the room? I find the shape of the blade very comfortable. surprisingly so. I feel like it gives me more control. It is very secure. and I want more of it! However, not everything is good about the handle. which brings me to the cons.Cons:1) The balance is in the HANDLE, which felt uncomfortable for my cutting style. Looks like the 8-inch knife would have a perfect balance.2) Size! The knife is smaller than regular "santoku". If you have a medium-large hand, you won't be able to use a pinch grip.3) After just one meal prep the blade lost the ability to cut newspaper cleanly. but it stayed plenty sharp till now.4) I couldn't really use the chef knife technique on it. Before someone says "Dah, its Santoku knife", I have to clarify, I have "full size", 7-inch Santoku knife. those few additional inches allow a nice rocking motion. This knife however gets stuck. As a result, I found myself using it less and less.

Best Kitchen Knife I Have Ever Owned
Not your average department store kitchen knife. Although the handle is unconventional, it puts the perfect amount of pressure where, and when it is needed and is comfortable to the hand.I could actually "feel it" slice thru carrots, potatoes & tomatoes, as if it was an extension of my hand. It made my slices much more consistent and less of a struggle. It is hand wash only, which is fine because I have come to really appreciate this knife and wish to preserve it for my lifetime. Also the wooden block it comes with reassures me that this knife won't end up a dull, scratched & battered. Unlike all my budget, garage sale knives, I am sure this one won't make me mutter "I need a good knife" every time I use it.

Unique and superbly comfortable handle design.
Excellent knife for the price. The unique flattened handle design is remarkably comfortable in the hand and offers excellent blade control. Came razor sharp and has thus far held it's edge well. The wooden storage holder is very handy and a great way to keep it safe in a drawer. It has become my go to knife for most jobs in the kitchen. The blade length is a bit short for some tasks like slicing a large roast but that isn't what it is meant for and I liked it so much that I also purchased the matching 7 inch chef's knife for when I need the extra length.

Design is a little over-rated
Steel and weight is good for me and worth the cost. If they had sold one longer... sigh?
