Best upgrade yet for my PT-1911
I bought the Recover grips and active retention holster for my PT-1911 to accomodate a weapon light, instead of an expensive upgrade of the gun itself. As other reviewers have said, installed in minutes and the grip itself feels great in my hands. I ran 100 rounds through it the other day and it worked beautifully. The added weight of the Streamlight TLR-1 on the rail helped to control the muzzle rise a bit, too. Before buying this I learned from other reviews that there are only two holsters that will work with these grips, so I also ordered the HC11 active retention holster. The gun holsters and draws smoothly with the Streamlight attached. The holster comes with a paddle and can be adjusted for cant via a hex screw, and the interlocking gear surfaces on the holster and paddle prevent any kind of rotation once secured with the hex screw. The only cons that I noticed is the paddle is a little too flexible for my taste; I prefer a stiffer paddle like the ones that come with the Blackhawk Serpa holsters. Also, the holster tend to protrude from my hip, making it a little more visible than the Serpa. I'm ordering a belt loop mount to replace the paddle, hoping that will bring it in a little closer.Overall, this is a great combo which I highly recommend if you're looking to add a weapon laser or light to your 1911.

I would recommend you remove the paddle and then pry out the ...
The holster will require modification for a 1911 with an addition of any sort of light/laser. The holster comes equipped with several cumbersome futures that can be removed or cut off. The holster has a filler piece that allows it to be ambidextrous, I would recommend you remove the paddle and then pry out the plastic filler piece as it makes drawing the weapon problematic.Second the holster has two rubberized flaps that cover the trigger. These interfere with the flashlight/laser and cause it to click on when holstering and removing the weapon. The ride of the weapon in the holster just plain stinks, and should be a belt loop style instead of the paddle style if you wish to carry this system concealed. If concealment is not an issue then the paddle is fine, other than the chaffing that occurs with such a style. All said and done there is some care and thought put into the system, and worn n a chest rig or LBE it’s excellent. For CC however it fails on every level.

Product does as it says
I was worried about the grips fitting my RIA 1911 with a 5 in barrel. But I was happy to learn that the grips perfectly with little to no issues. The holster is def worth purchasing as well. Comfortable and practical for open carry and I was able to mount a laser I've had sitting in my drawer which fit surprisingly well even with a Valkyrie Dynamics Compensator, delivering on the claim of supporting different attachment options. Ive had it for a few weeks now can confirm that there is a bit of a break in period. But other than that Im completely satisfied with the purchase and would look to buy another if I get a second 1911.

Works exactly as expected!
There are a few things I wish were possible with the holster and I'll probably buy a drop-leg holster that will fit most of my needs but it fits my springfield/recover setup really well. Hangs up just a little with the light I purchased but pretty sure it's a light issue and not a holster issue. Active retention is solid, works very well. Really like the fit and look of the grip/rail and have had compliments on it already. Love my Springfield 1911 even more now!

but I don't like the hollow
Solid connection, but I don't like the hollow, plastic, slippery feel of the handle

The company is the WORST to deal with
I t flat out does NOT work. The fit and finish on the holster is pure JUNK. Will not maintain the selected cant. Can not tighten it down without using red loctite which defeats the purpose of have a flexible cant. The company is the WORST to deal with. Horrible customer support. They argue rather that help.

Gun Jams in Holdster
1911 Pistol jams in the holster when fitted with these tactical grips. The only way to over-ride is to file off the plastic holster lock. Would not recommend to law enforcement.
