Hard to get to Wifi but otherwise works great!
Everything seems good enough quality. Not quite sure why the electrical box needs to be as large as it is, but that's not a big deal. The hinged door is a little weird (as another reviewer mentions I assume this is to fit it into the shipping box, which is quite narrow. Again, not a big deal. What was a big deal, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, was attaching to Wifi. I am quite technical and have a lot of experience in this area, but there was no way I could get the thing working even once I brought the control box into close proximity of the access point. It wasn't until I followed some alternate directions that I was able to get it to work. For those of you who may be struggling with the same problem, here is what I did:- Remove the top cover with the large plastic phillips / thumb screws- Plug the unit in (or restart if already plugged in)- While unit is still doing the long and 2 short flashes, note there are 2 black buttons on the bottom circuit board. Hold down the button on the left until the light flashes repeatedly (this means it is now broadcasting its own WiFi SSID)- On your phone, attach to the new WiFi SSID (will start with "ITEAD") - password is "12345678"- Open eWeLink app and click "Compatible Pairing Mode( AP)" at the bottom- Click on "Next"- Your device should now be found and you can set the permanent WiFi details, schedule, etc.Note: If this still doesn't work, you may legitimately be too far from your WiFI access point.Hope this helps!

Must Have Good WiFi
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this automatic door for over a month now and I’m pretty happy with it. The timer has worked flawlessly which makes it worth every penny. It goes nice and slow so my chicken aren’t scared of it. It takes 30 seconds for it to open or close. It comes with a feature designed to protect chickens from getting squished (see video). There is an inch at the bottom of the door that is delayed to close so that the chicken would have time to squeeze it’s head or feet through before it closes. My biggest complaint is the durability of the door. The metal is pretty thin. For the money, I would expect it to be a nice sturdy door. I’d like to think a predator couldn’t break through it but I’m not completely confident saying that. The instructions are obviously translated into English from another language so they aren’t the easiest to understand but they do a pretty good job with pictures to explain. It wasn’t a very stressful installation, probably took 40 minutes to install. Make sure you have adequate space to install it. The bar sticks out a couple inches and has to be mounted way above the door. Mine ended up fitting perfectly over the existing door of the coop. The app works great, but again, it clearly wasn’t designed in English so it could be easier to navigate. It also comes with a remote control to open the door if you couldn’t use the app. KEEP IN MIND you must have good WiFi that reaches your chicken coop in order to use the app and set up the timer. I happen to have a WiFi camera in my coop that states the WiFi strength percentage that it receives and it was at about 30% and the door wouldn’t connect, so I had to have a WiFi extender installed in order to achieve this.It comes with a wire that says it can be hooked up to a battery so that the door can be cordless, but I have no clue how that works. I’d like to figure it out so I can get rid of the extension cord.Overall, I’m pleased with it and like I said, it’s worth the money for the reliable timer function. If my review is helpful, please let me know!

The schedule is not reliable.
We have ours set for 0730 to open and 1930 to close. Initially, this worked great. Then for an unknown reason, it started sometimes not opening at all or open at various times in the morning. The same goes for when it closes, the time varies. So, we simply use the remote to open and close the door. Hardware wise, it is very sturdy, but without the schedule working, it isn’t worth much to us. We very much regret purchasing this.- Update: They sent me a new controller and ‘remote’. We never could get the new controller to connect to the WiFi. So we used the ‘remote’ to open and close. Just a few months later, it started randomly working, like the first. Now, it won’t work at all. (Battery cannot be replaced in the remote.) - I beg of you, do NOT order this!!!

Wifi was impossible to set up.
I am returning this coop door.I was excited to have the advanced technology of a wifi controlled coop door. However, installing the app on my phone (which is the ONLY way to program the coop door) proved impossible. We went through numerous techniques and tests of our phones, routers and computers, but the app would not let us connect with the computer in the coop door. There is not an override function either, to manually open or close the door if needed. The app to use the wifi on the coop door is a universal smart home app, not one that was created by the maker of the coop door. This company is international and has no phone number or customer service to help install the app correctly. The only line of communication is by email. My email to tech support was sent three days ago and I still haven't heard a response.I have started the process of returning the coop door. I ordered in its place one that has a good, old-fashioned timer that I can control.
