Off-gassing
I received this on July 10th, and it has been airing out in my guest room with both windows open since then. (Good thing it's summer.)For the first few days I wasn't sure if the off-gassing was going to go away. After nearly two weeks I can now go into the room with out being immediately hit with a strong chemical smell. It has not entirely gone away yet, but it is now to the point that I think (hope!) that it will. Not everyone reporting here seems to have had this problem, but without airing out, I can't imagine asking a guest to sleep on the one I received.I have no idea as to the comfort etc., as no one has slept on it yet, but there are plenty of reviews here on that. Also, the one I received had a small tear. I but a piece of tape over it because I don't want to mess with repacking and returning such a bulky item, but it's irritating that it was sent damaged.UPDATE (Sept 30, 2019): My brother used the bed during an extended visit. (Over 60 days.) On previous visits he slept in the same bed without the topper. I have been told by him and other guests that the bed (without the topper) was fine, but maybe a little firm. He says that with the topper the bed is as comfortable as anything he has ever slept on. So I am upgrading my review. The off gassing did go away-but it took a good four weeks with the window open. The tape seems to be keeping the tear from getting any worse. Finally, I was contacted by the company. They offered to refund my money, but asked that I delete my review. I didn't take their money-but because the topper did ultimately improve the sleeping comfort of the guest room bed, in spite of the two issues, I would purchase again - hoping that I might get one a little less gassy and without a tear.

3” is uncomfortable, but the 2” is the perfect match!
*UPDATE* We originally bought the 3inch topper for our king sized bed. After 5 months of no improvement & actually having worse back pain some nights (it was especially hard to roll around on), I almost just threw the whole thing away. But then a family member mentioned they bought the 2inch for their king sized bed instead. I ended up trading the 3 for the 2 and I am SO HAPPY NOW! It made such a huge difference, it’s very soft and comfortable (without being too soft that you can’t move) which is what we needed for our hard bed. My sleep quality has improved a lot and I’ve had so much less back pain with this one. Personally I think the 3inch is too much and would highly recommend the 2inch as the perfect fit!

My joints don't hurt anymore!
I ordered the Mattress Topper King, Memory Foam Mattress Topper for King Size Bed, 3 Inch. This is the closest thing you'll get to sleeping on a cloud! My husband got to pick out the newest mattress and he likes it on the firm side. But I was waking up in absolute pain and discomfort so I knew I had to find something to soften my side of the bed. I searched all kinds of sites for the best reviews for mattress toppers. This one had some of the best reviews. So I bought a twin size. When it arrived, I opened it up to let it expand. No overwhelming smell, it expanded fully in no time. And then it happened.... the greatest night of sleep I've had in a while! I kept raving about it so much my husband finally tried my side out and DEMANDED I order a King size because he said it was the greatest thing ever! My son didn't believe his dad would like something like that, so HE tried it and then I had to give him the first one I ordered. The ONLY thing I'm upset about is that I have missed out on this comfort and happiness and could have had this awesome feeling years ago. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a firm mattress that is experiencing joint pain from sleep.

Changed My Rating
UPDATE: I have been sleeping on this for over 2 months now, so I can give a more accurate rating than my initial one (which was after sleeping on it for less than 2 weeks). I'm changing from a 5-star to a 4-star rating. The comfort of this topper is SOOO nice. I love getting into bed. But a few days after I wrote my initial review, I noticed some MINOR aches and pains returning. I also started to become slightly annoyed again by the sinking feeling and my slight overheating. I couldn't get past these things. So, I decided to go forward with my plan to place a 1" latex topper on top of this one. BINGO! It's been about 2 months now since I added the latex, and I have the PERFECT bed. Zero aches/pains, no more sinking, and no more overheating. Don't get me wrong, this topper is great. It is super duper comfortable. But I needed to tweak it a bit to make it perfect for me, so I'm taking away 1 star.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I bought this foam out of extreme desperation. I was having horrible pains everywhere from sleeping on my old, cheap mattress. It got to the point where I could not sleep through the night. When I fell asleep, I'd wake up 20 minutes later in extreme pain. I would just cry (literally) because I was sleepy and couldn't go to sleep, which is unusual for me. I'm one of those people that fall asleep within 2-5 minutes after getting in the bed. I'm 40 years old and never dealt with insomnia or anything like that (by God's grace). I can usually sleep through the night for 8-10 hours and wake up feeling great. So, this problem was HUGE for me!I did some online research to find something within my budget that would help. The reviews for this memory foam were so great and the price was right, so I went for it. I bought the 3" foam. My kids noticed a very slight "smell" when I first put it on the bed, but I didn't notice a thing. Whatever they smelled went away quickly. It took only a few minutes to expand to its full height and shape. When I laid across this thing, it felt like laying on a cloud customized for my body. I was fully convinced that my sleeping problems were behind me.The first night was overall good because my pains were mostly eliminated... but I kinda "sank" into the foam. It was NOT a good feeling. Plus, it slept kind of hot. These things made it uncomfortable. The second and third nights were worse. The aches and pains were still there slightly. The sinking feeling and the extra heat drove me crazy. But because the pain wasn't extreme anymore, and I WAS able to get a better night's sleep, I was grateful and just pushed through.I went online and found a 1" topper made out of 100% natural latex. I read some awesome reviews and one guy said that he experienced the exact same problems I was experiencing from his 3" foam topper, and by putting a 1" latex topper on top of the foam, he was able to keep the softness of the foam while remedying the "sinking" and extra heat. So, I ordered the 1" latex topper. But it took over a week for the latex topper to arrive. In the meantime, I continued to sleep on this 3" foam topper and every single night got better than the night before. I guess I just had to "break it in" or something. I don't know. But by the time the latex topper arrived, I didn't need it anymore, so I chose to return it unopened. I wasn't experiencing any more pain or sinking from the foam. I didn't feel any extra heat. Or maybe my body just adapted to it (??). Again, I don't know. But I get the BEST sleep now. It is SOOO comfortable when I first get in the bed. The pain is gone. I sleep like a baby through the night without tossing, turning, or waking up at all (like I always had before this problem began). I wake up feeling rested and refreshed. My husband, who has been experiencing pains from our beds for YEARS, gave it his approval too. I am very pleased with this topper. I recommend it highly.
