Indispensable for some jobs.
When unsoldering components, I often use the addition of fresh reflowed solder and or rosin flux paste. Occasionally I use the desoldering braid or a desoldering suction pump. Nb: if using the latter with lead free solder, it can be expedient to reflow using the more free flowing 60/40 solder.
