Jean Paul USA TB-400 Trombone

This is one of the more unusual items I've been asked to review, but happens to be one of a few musical instruments I used to play.Many years ago at junior high school I joined the brass band at school, initially learning the cornet. Being of a larger build, I was quickly asked to play the larger bass and as an additional interest I also learned the trombone. This Jean Paul trombone is considerably lighter than I remembered mine being, and it took some time for me to retrain my lips to be able to vibrate to blow a decent note. After two weeks of on and off practise I finally managed to blow out something that sounded half decent.The trombone is very well balanced, the slide is very fluid in its movement, and overall I really enjoyed getting back to doing something I thought I'd long forgotten; I even surprised myself at how well a remembered to read music. The trombone is supplied in a good quality hard carry case which has a side pocket for storing sheet music. So, an all round high quality package. Highly recommended.

I'm a complete beginner with only minimal previous experience. This trombone lives up to everything that they claim in the product description and I'm delighted with the way it looks and sounds.It's well balanced and holding it feels very comfortable which is unexpected. I was expecting it to feel odd the way a guitar feels odd when you first learn to play. But my first experience of it has been very good.The whole package looks amazing and it comes in it's own carry-case complete with gloves and cleaning stuff. It feels very special to take out of the case and to hold and feeds the beginners excitement of all the possibilities that will come through mastery. You can use it straight out of the box.It's a professional piece of kit and I can easily see myself playing it for years to come.I'm learning through you-tubes and it's very good fun.I'd definitely recommend this for beginners and also for people who have been playing a while. I'm no expert but I think this goes beyond being just a students instrument. Very highly recommended.

I ordered this for a bit of fun. I play several instruments and had never thought of trying the trombone but when this came up I immediately ordered it. It comes in a smart case and is really easy to assemble. With no experience I researched the internet and have found some helpful guidance and have had great fun learning to play. My son is also now keen to learn how to play and we have both really enjoyed having a go. Not sure my neighbours are that keen though!!

After years of grappling and failing with keyboards I thought this might be a bit more my speed.This is a fine instrument. Easy to assemble with a little catch to hold the slide in place and a tool for removing obstructions and a cleaning cloth for the mouthpiece. The case is of good quality as well with a pocket for music.It doesn't come with any instructions, but assembly is straightforward.I'm no trombonist as yet, but I'm already getting a good tune out of it and I'll be on YouTube for some tutorial videos.On, to Carnegie Hall!
