In favour of adding to my Swiss Diamond collection of pans, I sold my Le Creuset chef's sauté pan (same diameter) to buy this and know it was the best choice. I now have the best of both worlds -- a casserole/sauté pan in one -- it's depth shallow enough for just that -- and to easily fit in my oven. My hob is freed up from a long pan handle sticking out dangerously, and the two handles on this casserole are easy to grip without slippage. I love the feather-light feel of this pan -- a lot lighter than my Le Creuset sauté pan -- which is less awkward for my arms. A heat-tempered tight-fitting glass lid enables you to keep an eye on your cooking and it has a swivel knob to adjust steam ventilation. Swiss Diamond has to be the best and easiest-to-clean cookware I've ever used by far. So far, I have cooked numerous curries and soups in it, and used it for steaming.
