Not sturdy!
I'm a cook and a pastry chef! I use my cards lots. I thought these would be at least the thickness of cardstock which they are not. I would say their just a little heavier than looseleaf paper but NOT the thickness of cardstock. Yes they are detailed with information. But I'm going to have to glue a recipe card to the back. BUt I don't think the tabs will last long.

What every chef needs!
These are sturdy cards, and are easy to read. I love that each section came with a card that gives useful tips for baking/cooking. Getting a second set for my daughter!

Way too thin
Would be a good product if the dividers were thicker and sturdier.

Nice
I really like these dividers. The information on them is wonderful and it is easy to read. They have so many helpful tips and cooking information. There is a divider for every type of recipe. The only downside is that it is NOT laminated. I bought protectors for my recipe cards to keep them clean, but they did not work on the dividers due to the tabs. Maybe the dividers would have held up, I do not know. I had them laminated before I used them. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Everything else about them was excellent.

More than expected!
I know most people keep their recipes on computer these days and I do print out my recipe cards if I feel like it. But, I'm old fashioned and love my recipe box. Plus, at times I deal with some serious power outages and can't get to my favorite grilling recipes if I need them when the power is out. It's also a one stop shop for all my favorite recipes scattered through my cookbook library. I've used online recipes and went back to them online consistently but, I've had them disappear off the websites. So, I keep a box. I remember my Grandmother's box with stained cards well used and I'm happy to have gotten it along with her grandmother's cast iron. Surprise! These index cards have extras. The set includes 24 cards and on the front of each card are tips, cooking tips, preserving tips, lists of what wines to serve with different foods, substitutions, candy making tips, a substitution chart for casserole pans, a card for cooking info (which I really like because it allows me to put in some of the methods I like to use), meat roasting times, party tips, timing for pasta and rice, pastry tips, freezing and canning tips. So, before I start the 4th of July cooking here I thought I'd sit down and start re-sorting my box and putting the covers on the cards. If you are looking for these types of cards, I'd go for these!

Hard to find item...great quality
My recipe box is a treasure of favorite recipes gathered over my 55 years of marriage. My recipe box has been replaced three times over the years, but the category dividers have been difficult to locate. I ordered two sets: one for me, and one for my grand daughter who is a recent college graduate and in her first apartment. I understand that young people today do almost everything on their phone or computer, but I am hoping she will come to treasure her recipe box and the much loved family favorites I have written out for her.
