100% You need this for your printer.
My frustration went to near 0% and my print quality went to almost 100%. The only time I worry about filament messing up is when I run out, or if I'm printing TPU too fast. There's a lot of housings on thingiverse that work with "BMG" and after almost a year of prints both short and long times this thing keeps on ticking.I suppose this is an easy jump off point before you invest in something like an E3D Volcano or more expensive hot end.

Way better than a E3D titan
I had a original E3D clone on my hypercube it was ok, until I got a Palette2. The E3D bearings kept failing and extrusion and retraction were inconsistent. I upgraded to this extruder and so far it seems to be a lot more consistent.

Great extruder with one flaw that can be fixed
Update - 10/03/2018:I was sent a new extruder and from the get go I installed it "upside down" and with an e3d coupler instead of the one that came with it. Since doing that this has been working wonderfully. Prints are solid with constant extrusion even at fast speeds ( 100mm/s +). The price point is unbeatable but definitely order the e3d coupler or one that is comparible so you do not end up having the bowden tube getting pushed out of the extruder. This can happen with even a tiny clog or if your hotend cannot heat up the filament fast enough. With my Titan extruder it would force it through and continue to print but that was using the quality e3d coupler.Upping from 2 to 4 stars since the extruder itself is working great. If it came with a quality coupler and I did not have to upgrade it to the e3d coupler I would give it 5 stars since at the price point it is unbeatable.Check out the attached picture to see it in the "upside down" orientation with the metal e3d couple installed.Original Review:When I first installed this extruder I was pleasantly surprised. I have been running an e3D Titan for quite some time but am over having to replace bearings and the face plate every few months ( I print a lot ). This installed quickly and easily with some fresh Capricorn tubing and I was printing in no time. It was great! But then... the bowden tube coupler stopped holding in the bowden tube. I print the prusament black PLA at 220 degrees ( my printer is fast and moves a lot of filament so it needs to be high ) and half way through I print I heard a *pop* from the printer. I looked over and saw that the bowden tube had popped out. I figured maybe I did not have it pushed in all the way so I clipped off the new slightly chewed up end of the tube and stuck it back in. It worked for a few days but now it does not want to stay in. I have had to trim the tube a few times and stick it back in but the fact of the matter is that the coupler is not very high quality and the worse part is that I cannot replace it. It is fused into the piece which is funny because the couple on the other side of the extruder ( the inlet ) is not. I could easily replace that with a better couple but since that one never has pressure on it, it won't help anything. I am going to probably return the one I have and give it another shot since I should still be under the amazon return policy but I imagine this is going to happen again after I am able to return it and be out the money spent. I really do like the extruder but that one aspect ( not being able to replace the outlet coupler ) is a big deal.

Arrived broken, beware!
Arrived broken, gears were chewed up and the bowden tube coupler sleeves(collets) were busted so I couldnt run the extruder properly. I tried to make it work with no success. I shouldnt have to spend a pile of extra money to make something work that should right out of the box. Maybe it was used and they tried to resell it, maybe it was just one defected one out of the bunch, who knows, Its on its way back, my only suggestion is to take caution when buying this item.

.
There is no instructions. And after filament jammed, the bowden coupler would not release the tube...

This fixed So many issues I was having with my printer.
This fixed So many issues I was having with my printer. So many hours of troubleshooting wasted. I should have just upgraded to this from the get go.
