I purchased this amp from Amazon Warehouse as a "Like New" item. When I went to install the amp, I smelled a slight burnt smell, but not to overpowering. You have to remove the top cover of the his amp in order to make all the power and speaker connections and the inside appeared to be fine. No black or charred spots. When I powered up the amp and started listening to the stereo, the sound was awful. It sounded muffled and just didn't have the clarity that the amp I removed had. After about 5 minutes, I smelled something burning. Sure enough, it was the amp smoking like a chimney. Thank Goodness it didn't fry any of my other equipment.

I purchased this amp brand new and it never worked from day one. Had it checked out and was told that some output transistors were no good. Seems to be a result of cheap parts
